PROFESSOR PASCAL J. KISHINDO TO TRAIN AUTHORS AGAIN

On November 6 and 7, authors will again gather at Thope Lodge to be trained in various skills essential for writing. Among others, the training is targeting writers of all kind. These authors will be trained in skills namely; editing, proofreading and book designing. There is also a plan that the training will include a discussion on copyright and other related laws including reprographic rights.

Among the facilitators will be one prominent author and Professor of African Languages and Linguistics at the University of Malawi, Pascal J. Kishindo. Professor Pascal Kishindo is a celebrated academician and author, who has written numerous books and journal articles. This is not the first time that he has accepted to train fellow authors in a bid to improve Malawian writing of academic and nonfiction materials. Every time that Professor Kishindo speaks to the authors, it turns out to be a huge opportunity for growth of authors.

Currently, the Vice President of MUANA; Mr. Ndongolera Mwangupili has confirmed that preparations for the training are at an advanced stage. Mwangupili also added that the training does not totally target members of MUANA alone. He said that everyone who at one point in time needs editing and proofreading including design and copyright knowledge can take advantage of the opening and get trained at MK60,000 only.

Last month, authors were trained in digital publishing, launching and marketing of books.
